Catholic Television in Boston (CatholicTV) was born on the morning of January 1, 1955 when Archbishop Richard J. Cushing celebrated a Pontifical Low Mass in the new Catholic Television studios on Granby Street in Boston. Since that morning, CatholicTV has offered the Mass, live on Sunday and weekdays and a wide variety of Catholic educational and inspirational programming. This includes live talk shows such as "This Is The Day," the daily Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Benediction, catachetical programs, music shows, entertainment/variety shows, youth and children's programming. CatholicTV of Boston is also associated with Centro Televisivo Vaticano (CTV) and provides live coverage of world Catholic events from the Vatican such as the death of Pope John Paul II and the election and journeys of Pope Benedict XVI and more.
