This image was used to promote the South Africa / World Tour cast of Cats as it toured the world. It opened at the Artscape Opera House in Cape Town, South Africa on December 3, 2001. It went on to Pretoria, South Africa. The show then went onto tour international venues, first it played for 5 days at the Beiteddine Music Festival in Beirut, Lebanon in July 2002, and then Kuala Lumpur in October of the same year. In January 2003 it opened at the Seoul Arts Center in Seoul, South Korea and in March it went to Grand Theatre in Shanghai, China. The show closed early in Shanghai due to SARS and a Beijing stop was cancelled. The show then went to Taipei and to tour Scandinavia before disbanding.

I received this image from and by e-mail actor who was preforming in the show and was given permission to share the photo on the web. However, I was not given copyright permissions. This image is being used to illustrate the article Cats (musical). I fell that it falls into the fair use spectrum for two reasons: 1)It was part of the press kit used to promote the show--this image appeared in news paper ads and web ads of the countries listed above to promote the show 2) it is a representative photo of the costumes and makeup that are used in the show.
