Cellou Dalein Diallo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cellou Dalein Diallo (born February 3, 1952[1]) is a Guinean economist and politician. He became the prime minister of Guinea on December 9, 2004, when he was appointed by Guinea's ailing president, Lansana Conté. The position of prime minister had been vacant since April 2004. Diallo once worked at the central bank[2] and joined the cabinet in July 1996. He served as minister of public works and transport from 1999 to 2004, and was minister of fisheries from early 2004 until his appointment as prime minister in December.[1]
In early April 2006, a radio broadcast announcing cabinet changes which would have increased Diallo's power was interrupted by soldiers; Diallo was then dismissed as prime minister.[3]
