Cenél nEógain

Cenél nEógain (in English, Cenel Eogan)is the name of the "kindred" or descendants of Eógan, son of Niall Noígiallach who founded the kingdom of Tír Eógain in the 5th century. It comprises much of what is now County Tyrone, as well as parts of counties Londonderry, Donegal, Fermanagh, Monaghan and Armagh.
Descendants of Eógan include Hugh O'Neill; Felim O'Neill of Kinard; Owen Roe O'Neill; Patrick O'Neill; Hugh Dubh O'Neill; Hugh McShane O'Neill; Conn O'Neill, 1st Earl of Tyrone;.
