The Century Council is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce drunk driving and underage drinking. It promotes responsible decision-making regarding drinking or non-drinking and works to reduce all forms of irresponsible consumption. It creates strategic partnerships and develops and implements innovative programs and public awareness campaigns. The Council stresses education, communications, research, law enforcement, and other means to reduce alcohol abuse.
The Century Council is chaired by former Congress member Susan Molinari. An independent Advisory Board assists the Council in continually developing innovative and effective ideas. Financial support is provided by a group of alcoholic beverage distillers in the United States (Bacardi USA, Inc., Brown-Forman, Constellation Brands, Inc., Cruzan, Ltd., DIAGEO, Future Brands LLC, Hood River Distillers, Inc., and Sidney Frank Importing Co., Inc.) that have invested over 130 million dollars in its programs since its founding in 1991.
