Chain of survival
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The chain of survival was developed by the American Heart Association in 1990. It refers to four steps that, when put into motion, increase the probability of saving a victim of cardiac arrest. Like any chain, the chain of survival is only as strong as its weakest link. The chain of survival includes:
-
- Early access (to Emergency medical services or EMS)
- Early CPR
- Early defibrillation
- Early advanced care
