Charles Cooke Hunt

Charles Cooke Hunt (1833-1868) was an explorer of Western Australia who led four expeditions between 1864 and 1866. He died in Geraldton district on March the first 1868 at the age of 35.
His third expedition was between January to October 1865 and he led the expedition of six pensioner guards, ten convicts and aboriginal George Mundial. His wells between Cunderdin and Kalgoorlie were guided by local aboriginal knowledge of water sources relating to the Granite outcrops of Western Australia.
