Charles E. Swanson

Charles Elroy Swanson (born November 14, 1927) was president of Encyclopædia Britannica Inc. from 1967 to 1985.
A native of Elgin, Illinois, he joined Britannica in 1962 as director of administration for international operations and successfully revamped the company's Canadian branch. He became executive vice president of the company in October 1966 and president in September 1967.
