Charles Leblond

Charles Philippe Leblond (born February 5, 1910) is a former Canadian professor of anatomy and an electron microscopy researcher.
Born in Lille, France, he received his diploma in medicine from the University of Paris in 1934. In 1935, he received a Rockefeller Fellowship and spent two years in the United States at Yale University. He received his doctorate in medicine from the McGill University in 1942. From 1957 to 1974, he was the head of the department of anatomy at McGill.

- In 1961, he was awarded the Royal Society of Canada's Flavelle Medal.
- In 1977, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.
- In 1982, he was awarded an honorary degree from McGill University.
- In 1986, he received an honorary Doctor of Science (biologist) from York University.
- In 1992, he was awarded the Quebec government's Prix Marie-Victorin.
- In 1995, he was inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame.
- In 1999, he was promoted to Companion of the Order of Canada.
- In 2001, he was made a Grand Officer of the National Order of Quebec.
