Charles Lynn Batten

Charles Lynn Batten is an associate professor in the department of English at University of California, Los Angeles. He is particularly known for his work on the study of travel literature, Pleasurable Instruction: Form and Convention in Eighteenth Century Travel Literature.

He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia and received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1971.
Batten has won numerous teaching awards throughout his career at UCLA, including the Distinguished Teaching Award in 1981. [1], [2]
