Charles M. Swanick

Charles M. Swanick is a former Chairman of the County Legislature in Erie County, New York. He served for 24 years in the County Legislature and was Chairman from 1996 to 2001 and in 2003. He served as Minority Leader of the Legislature in 2002. He was a Democrat for most of career, but became a Republican in 2003 in order to become Legislature Chairman. He lost the 2003 Republican Primary and was reelected as a third party candidate.
