Charlie Goodnight's
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Charlie Goodnight's is a premiere comedy club located in Raleigh, North Carolina. It can almost be described as the Comedy Store of the East. It was established in 1978 and has three main parts, Underground, Goodnight's, and Champagne Charley's. This club was remarklably famous back in the heyday of comedy, the 90's, when the industry was busting at the seams with talent. It still frequents the top ten list of clubs to go to.

[edit] Goodnight's
This is the mainstage of the club, where headliners such as Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Drew Carey performed, before they hit it big. Every week from Thursday through Sunday, they have a headliner perform. Wednesday nights are devoted to open-mic nights. Charlie Goodnight's is famous for having some of the local talent in the country. It is also notable in that it does not charge people to perform, nor does it have a two-drink minimum, as that is against North Carolina law.
The current house MC of this mainstage is Christopher "Lumpy" Wilkes.
[edit] The Old Bar
This was the downstairs restaurant before it was renovated and turned into a Tapas style restaurant. It was a good place for college kids to hang out.
[edit] Champagne Charley's
The upper class restaurant located on the top floor. It serves fanciful wines and grade A meats.
[edit] Underground
This is the replacement for the Old Bar.
