[edit] Edmonton expert!
Hi, thank you very much indeed for your post at Wikipedia talk:Notability (books). I've replied there, asking a few things based on what you said, if you're interested in expanding your comments.
Principally, however, I'm really pleased to find someone who knows about CKT in real life, and has access to Edmonton newspapers. The article Cheryl Kaye Tardif really needs more independent references. If it comes up for deletion again, it might well not survive (I'm not bothered personally, but that's hardly the point). So if you are up for it, I'd urge you to contribute what you know and can reference to this article.
Very many thanks, and happy wiki-ing :-) JackyR | Talk 12:26, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

- Hi again. Have you had any luck with CKT material? Do you think you might in the future? I ask because I shall (one day) get round to working on Cheryl Kaye Tardif to make it conform more closely to WP:V,, WP:RS, etc. That could mean the article shrinks to an unkeepable state, or have no claim of notability. I'd rather not do that if you'll soon have adequate reference material. Cheers, JackyR | Talk 14:28, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I'm in Calgary now, but I used to live in Edmonton (and in Yellowknife). I just thought that what was being said was a bit US-centric. Sorry I didn't get back to you before - I had gotten a few abusive messages and was ignoring them. Sorry! --Charlene.fic 01:45, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your question
Greetings. I responded to your question here. Bear in mind that there is already an article on the RMS Empress of Ireland. You may want to expand that article instead. All the best, – Quadell (talk) (random) 14:08, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Button Gwinnett
I was perusing the AfD page and saw that you pulled out a Button Gwinnett reference. Kudos to you, you've made my evening. Cheers. L0b0t 01:38, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Heavy" in aviation callsigns
The AIM page you cite does indeed say that B757 aircraft are treated as heavy for wake turbulence avoidance purposes, but seems to say that they don't use the word "heavy" in their callsigns. This matches my (admittedly, not so recent) experience: they may get heavy aircraft separation, but they don't use "heavy" on the air. Have you heard differently, or have a more concise reference? [edit] Proposed guideline
Hi Charlene.fic, I noticed you edited the notable commercial accident/incident list. Since you seem to be interested in the topic, would you mind looking at and commenting on our proposed guideline for it? It would be very much appreciated if you do. Thanks, Crum375 22:17, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Charlene,
I'm Gordon (UtzChips) I am new to wikipedia. I caught your vote on the Brad Hines entry. It wasn't an ad, Hines has been in the press numerous times for his work and contributions to society, he recently donanted an art club to McGill University for example. Also, I got your point about everyone being known to someone, but at the exact same time, do you think you know the name of everyone notable in the world?
Here's a fun example I just came up with, have you honestly heard of all three of these people: Otto Lilienthal, Ferdian Piech, and Keith Haring? (Three random people who no doubt have entries on wikipedia.) I would be super impressed if you have! Anyway, if you read about domain name investing sometime, you'll see it's a billion dollar industry already still in its infancy, there's little material on it here on wikipedia but it's growing fast, Hines is kind of at the forefront of it. Could we discuss this further so I could convince you the entry is worth of a "Keep" vote? Let me know.
Kindly, Gordon Brown (Utz)--Utzchips 04:04, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thelma Terry
Here are the comments I left on your Thelma Terry article after I assessed it:
I've rated this as start. I thought about rating it as "B", but there are several problems that need to be addressed before that happens.
- There is no legacy section. How did she influence bands or musicians who came later? how is she regarded today? I know you can find quotes for this, because I googled her myself after reading the article. A legacy section is really important in a bio.
- You have made several assertions, but provided *no* inline citations. A good wiki article has at least one inline citation per paragraph, and usually more. I understand your problem about finding reference sources, but you have at least that one website from the Coombs family. Please cite each instance where you used that; otherwise it looks like original research.
- The text needs copyediting to remove idiomatic expressions and make the prose more formal.
- There are a lot of facts here that are extraneous and have nothing to do with her notability. Comments about her beauty are interesting, but this is an article about her muscianship.
- I don't mean to be discouraging. I really enjoyed the article and it did inspire me to google her, so you did a good job in that respect. If it had only a legacy section and footnotes I would have given it a B. Jeffpw 08:59, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ref desk removal
Hi Charlene. I wanted to let you know that I removed a (helpful!) comment of yours because it was responding to a rude comment that I was removing, and your remark wouldn't have made much sense without context. See the diff here, and see User:SCZenz/Reference desk removals if you're curious about why I did the removal in the first place. If you think there was useful info in your comment that should be restored, please do restore that information—I unfortunately couldn't do more than take it out, since I obviously don't want to modify what you said or leave it without context. -- SCZenz 23:08, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Moving images
Ciao! You moved an image to the right in Titus but this created an unpleasant huge blank space. Please be more careful with image placing, when there are plenty of them or infobox are around... Anyway, thanks for good editings and good work!! --Attilios 21:00, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mohammad Kaykobad
In answer to your question here, I'll try to add the links to the article, but that may be after next week. So, in the mean time, if you have time to add them to the page, that would be great. Thanks. --Ragib 21:38, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] link to British
Hello, when you want to link to the article about something British, please do not link to British, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as United Kingdom, Great Britain or British English by writing out [[United Kingdom|British]] or [[Great Britain|British]]. [edit] Salt?
On the discussion page to delete Waffles radio you said it should be deleted and salted? What did you mean by salt? I tried looking and didn't dind an answer anywhere.

[edit] Please take another look
Hi Charlene,
Since you voted to delete List of bow tie wearers, I've made 3.4 billion changes to the article that I think address nearly all of its weaknesses. Could you take another look and reconsider? A number of other early voters have reconsidered. I still expect to make a few more changes, but not many. If the consensus is still to delete, it can be merged into Bow tie but it would tend to overwhelm that shorter article (I'd shorten the top paragraphs of the list page and stick it on the bottom of Bow tie if it is deleted). Anyway, please take a look. I'm not sure how much time is left. Thanks. Noroton 16:31, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
P.S. Oh, one more thing -- Les Nessman's there, and he's waiting for you. Wants to thank you for getting him on that page. Noroton 16:32, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of premature obituaries
Hi Charlene - thanks for your recent & previous edits to this list. You may or may not know it is currently a Featured List Candidate; I've been doing various cleanups/improvements to it recently. If you think it is good enough to be a Featured List, I'd be very grateful if you could add your 'support' vote here. Thanks! Ben Finn 11:09, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
