Cherubs is the band name of two bands. One was a acid punk band from Austin, Texas formed in the 1990's, and breaking up in 1996 (see external links). The second is from the UK and Norway, and is detailed below.
The band came together December 2003, and in a short period of time played all over the UK and abroad with bands such as The Libertines, The Departure, The Rakes, Bloc Party, Razorlight, Maxïmo Park, Moving Units, The Cribs, The Others, Art Brut, The Bandits and many more, as well as supporting The Libertines for their legendary reunion gig in Kent 2004.
Debut single "Hey Bunny" was out October 2004, second single was the non-album track "Club Hoola Hoop's Walls" out February 2005. Their debut album "Uncovered by Heartbeat" was released 18th April 2005 on Cargo Records. Single "A Man of no Importance" is another non-album track, and was out 15th August on CD single and ltd. edition 7". It was produced by Mercury Prize nominee producer Gareth Parton (Ikara Colt, The Go! Team, The Killers, The Futureheads).
In Autumn 2005 Glenn decided to leave the band at the end of the year, and played his last gig with the band on the 24th of November at the Barfly in London. In February 2006 Glenn Fryatt joined as the new drummer.
Cherubs record label is the London based Cargo Records.
