Cheruthuruthi

Cheruthuruthi is a beautiful small village in the banks of Nila nadi or Barathapuzha, which is 32 km from Trissur town, Kerala state, south India. Its between Trissur and Shoranur. Palakkad town is only 47 km and Ottapalam 17 km from Cheruthuruthi.
The old Kerala Kalamandalam established in 1930 by Maha Kavi Vallathol, to impart training in traditional art forms like Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Thullal, Koothu, Drama and Folk Dances is located here.
Cheruthuruthy is booned with the banks of Bharathapuzha,Temple of "Kozhimamparambu" Bhagavathy Temple,Cheruthutruthy Mosque and St.Thomas Church.
The Samadhi or Tomb of the great Poet Vallathole is in the premises of old Kalamandalam.
Cheruthuruthy is placed in the tourism map of Kerala for the richness in cultural and social richness. Kerala Kalamandalam is now going to be established as the Deemed University for Cultural and Social Emergence. There is a small railway station in Chruthuruthy called Vallathol Nagar. Passenger trains have stop there. It is a sones throw from there to famous art centre Kalamandalam.
