Chester Hill Hornets

Chester Hill Hornets is a Junior Rugby League Club that competes in the Canterbury-Bankstown (Bulldogs) District Junior Rugby League competition.
Home ground for the Hornets is the Terry Lamb Complex, Banool St, Chester Hill.
In 2007 the Hornets will field sides in all age groups from Under 6's to A/Grade with the exception of Under 16's. In total there's 18 sides with multiple sides in the Under 6, Under 7, Under 9, Under 11 and Under 12 age groups.
The Hornets were founded in 1948 and have produced many first graders including Ross Kidd, Col Hughes, Roger Lavis, Craig Weston, Steve Weston, Heath Cruckshank, David Thompson (Chester Hill Rhinos captain in 2007) and current Dragons forward Corey Payne.

Terry Lamb - Played a record 349 first grade games for Western Suburbs Magpies and Canterbury Bulldogs from 1980-96. Played seven Tests for Australia, the 1988 World Cup and is the only player in history to play every match on a full Kangaroo Tour. Also represented NSW at State of Origin level in eight matches. Played in the 1984, 1986 and 1988 Grand Finals for the Bulldogs and was captain in the 1994 and 1995 Grand Finals, winners in 1995. Named five-eighth and captain in the Bulldogs 70-Year team in 2004. Winner of Dally M Player of the Year in 1983, Rothmans Medal in 1984, Players Player in 1984, 1986 and 1995. Winner of the Five-Eighth Award a record seven times in 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1991, 1992 and 1993. Life Member of the Bulldogs Football Club and Chester Hill Hornets. Currently is Club Patron of the Hornets and a member of the Bulldogs Football Staff. Winner of the Bill Delauney Medal in 1972 and the Norm Holmes Medal in 1976 and 1978.
Geoff Robinson - Canterbury Bulldogs forward from 1977-86 and played in the 1980, 1984 and 1986 Grand Finals. The most popular and supported player in his time at Belmore. Played over 200 grade games and is a Life Member of the Bulldogs Football Club. Represented City Seconds in 1984. Currently coach of the Chester Hill Rhinos club that competes in the NSWRL Jim Beam Cup competition.
Terry Matterson - Played in the 1992 and 1993 Grand Finals for the Brisbane Broncos and scored 24 points in the Broncos premiership debut. Represented NSW at State of Origin level in 1989. Also played first grade for Sydney Roosters and London Broncos. Currently the coach of English 1st Division club Castleford Tigers. Winner of the Bill Delauney Medal in 1974.
There's a team in the NSWRL Jim Beam Cup known as the Chester Hill Rhinos. They are coached by Geoff Robinson and managed by Garry Hughes. They are sponsored and owned by the Laundy Hotels Group.
