The Chevrolet Spectrum was a subcompact car sold from 1985 through 1988 (known in 1989 briefly as the Geo Spectrum), replacing the American-made Chevette. A 70 hp 2-barrel carbureted engine and a 110 hp fuel-injected and turbocharged engine were available. The Spectrum was a rebadged version of the Isuzu I-Mark, which in turn was a rebadged Isuzu Gemini. The Spectrum was rebadged for 1989 as the Geo Spectum. Also, a rebadged version was sold as the Pontiac Sunburst in Canada. The Geo Spectrum was sold for only one year, 1989, but was substantially the same as the Chevrolet version sold until the introduction of the Geo marque after 1988.

The Storm, which indeed shared components with the Spectrum replaced the car in 1990, although the Storm would be sold in 2-door hatchbacks and station wagons. The Canadian Pontiac Sunburst was replaced by the Passport Optima for 1990. The sedan was replaced by the Saturn S-Series since GM introduced the Saturn marque in 1991.
