Chiddingly

Chiddingly is a village and parish in the Wealden District of East Sussex, 7 miles (11km) east of Lewes and 4 miles (6km( west of Hailsham, and situated north of the A22 road at Golden Cross.
Chiddingly parish is essentially a rural agricultural settlement covering 7 square miles of countryside, and includes a collection of hamlets: the largest of these being Muddles Green and Thunder's Hill. Other Hamlets include Gun Hill, Whitesmith, Golden Cross & Upper Dicker. There is an adult population of about 730 people. Of the more than 340 dwellings in the parish, over 50 have the word "Farm" in their postal address.
Like Rome, it is founded upon seven hills: Burgh Hill; Thunders Hill; Holmes Hill; Scrapers Hill; Stone Hill; Pick Hill; Gun Hill. It has a primary school, three pubs, a village hall, and a parish church and a chapel.
