- Cambiaso mutiny, (1852) - A rebellion by the garrison of Punta Arenas, Chile, which resulted in the near destruction of the city
- Chilean Civil War of 1859, (1859) - A rekindling of the armed rebellion by liberals against conservative president Manuel Montt started in 1851
