[edit] History
The league was founded in the end of 1982 and started in 1983, under the name of National First Division Football League (Traditional Chinese: 全國男子甲組足球聯賽).
Since 2006, CTFA changed the league's name to Enterprise Football League and tried to attract more attention and financial support from successful Taiwanese enterprises. Fubon Financial became the major sponsor, and therefore the league is also known as the Fubon Enterprise Football League (Traditional Chinese: 富邦企業足球聯賽). The number of teams participating in the league was also reduced from eight to four. By cutting out college and high school teams, this was an attempt to make the league more professional. Nevertheless, currently there are only two semi-professional clubs remaining: Tatung F.C. and Taiwan Power Company F.C..
