Sneaker Culture is a term which arose mainly from New York City’s love of sneakers.
In New York, Sneakers are a statement, a sign of status and they are often used to represent
One’s wealth. Sneakers serve much the same purpose as one’s type of car, one’s type of house, or
One’s Type of job. This sneaker fad is by no means new in fact it has been going on since the 1960s and
Has even inspired such books as, “Where’d you get Those?”

Sneaker culture is helped to be made stronger by such creations as Ebay.
Ebay has helped to boost the love of sneakers by allowing customers to find and purchase
sneakers they long dreamed of having but could not purchase for one reason or another. This sneaker craze has inspired
Some to gather over 500 pairs of sneakers for the fun of it.
Today contests exist for various collectors who collect and keep sneakers in mint
Condition. There even exists contests for most sneakers collected where first prize wins bragging rights
And a very sought after title, ‘sneaker king/queen of new york’.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria emigrated to New York at the age of six

Yung Chi has been compared to the likes of lil kim, and foxy brown, however she is known

Ashoké is the Igbo word for African clothing otherwise known as dashiki in various places in America.
The name comes from allowing yourself to shake and dance while wearing the material because it does
Not restrain your body much like jeans and shirts would. Ashokés are most likely worn during
special Occasions such as: weddings, church, etc, and they come in all types of colors and patterns.
Ashokés can be and are made from various types of material, cotton, polyester to make them more comfortable when being
worn in the hot sun. Today the traditional ashoke is meeting with more western styles to create a more
hip and more trendy modern ashoke. Countries in Africa can be determined based on the designs
of the ashoke that the people wear, since certain patterns are prone to certain countries. These countries
also have different names for ashoke as well.
