Chris Thompson (born May 19, 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American football cornerback for the Cleveland Browns of the NFL. He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 18th pick of the fifth round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Nicholls State University; he played for the Chicago Bears in the 2005 season, where he appeared in twelve games and accumulated 10 tackles. Chris Thompson is regarded as one of the greatest defensive players in the history of both Nicholls State University and the Southland Conference.
