Christian, Margrave of Brandenburg-Bayreuth

Christian of Brandenburg-Bayreuth (30 January 1581, Cölln – 30 May 1655, Bayreuth) was a Margrave of Bayreuth.
He was a son of John George, Elector of Brandenburg and his third wife Princess Elisabeth of Anhalt-Zerbst. In 1603 he became the Margrave of Bayreuth after the death of childless Georg Friedrich, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach and thus founded the Younger line of Brandenburg-Bayreuth.
He was one of the founders of the Protestant Union.

In 1604 Christian married with Duchess Marie of Prussia, daughter of Albert Frederick, Duke of Prussia. They had the following children:
- Elisabeth Eleonore, born and died in 1606
- Georg Friedrich, born and died in 1608
- Anna Maria (30 December 1609 – 8 May 1680), married on 23 October 1639 to Prince Johann Anton I of Eggenberg
- Agnes Sofie, born and died in 1611
- Magdalene Sibylle (27 October 1612 – 20 March 1687), married on 13 November 1638 to Elector John George II of Saxony
- Christian Ernst (18 November 1613 – 4 February 1614)
- Erdmann August (8 October 1615 – 6 February 1651)
- Georg Albrecht (20 March 1619 – 27 September 1666)
- Friedrich Wilhelm, born and died in 1620
