Christian Bernard Singer grew up in New York City where he worked as a company dancer with Laura Foreman's Composers and Choreographers Theater until 1974. In the mid 1980s, he moved to Toronto where he made a transition from performance and choreography to painting and eventually to sculpture. Starting around 2000 Singer’s work began to incorporate natural elements such as moss. These living-art installations have been exhibited both in situ and in gallery spaces.
