Talk:Chronology of European exploration of Asia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Huh?
"The Portuguese Vasco de gama, accompagnied by Nicolau Coelho and Bartolomeu Dias, is the first to reach India by sea. "
The first what? Portuguese, or European? As if it's the latter that would not make much sense -- Eudoxus of Cyzicus, a famous Ancient Greek explorer (European!) crossed the Arabian Sea in 130 BCE, a millennium and a half before de Gama. This really should be clarified. I've also noticed that such early (Antiquity) explorations of Asia have been left out of this, except for the Sino-Roman relations... mike4ty4 01:02, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
