I began contributing to Wikipedia in February 2007. "Circusandmagicfan" was an awful pseudonym that I came up with on the spur of the moment so don't read too much into it.
My background is an odd mixture of stuff so rather than try to come up with a title to describe myself I'll just give a list of stuff:
- I've had professional experience managing websites and e-comms projects
- I've worked as a journalist
- I have a masters degree in international relations
- I'm intersted in various aspects of IT, information security and policy - I have no particular qualifications but I've a reasonable level of understanding thanks to self-teaching and what they euphemistically call "on the job training".
- I have pretty wide musical tastes - from the mainstream to weird and experimental.
- I'm interested in magic and illusion and also in certain aspects of circus arts (but for the record I'm not into circuses with animals)
The above information is included to give people a rough idea what sort of person I am. I have no great ambitions on Wikipedia other than to make occasional contributions on topics that interest me. The tendency is for these topics to be outide the areas in which I work professionally and so I am not trying to establish myself as any sort of expert.

- WikiProject Magic - currently proposing various guidelines and changes to the project structure.
