From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CKSA-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts a country music format at 95.9 on the FM dial in Lloydminster.
The station is owned by Newcap Broadcasting.
Originally CKSA was an AM station which began broadcasting in the mid 1950's. It was originally owned by Midwest Broadcasting and the largest individual investor was Art Shortell. CKSA first broadcast on the 1150 frequency and later changed to 1080.
For many years CKSA was the only radio station in Lloydminster and the surrounding area.
In the 1980s a number of new stations began to broadcast in Lloydminster and surrounding area. CKSA changed its format to country. Indeed at one time it was known as Country 108.
CKSA is now known as LLOYD-FM, part of a rebranding strategy by its new owners, Newcap Broadcasting.
