Clayton Brook was originally built in the late 1970's and early 1980's. It hosts a public house The Clayton Brook, several primary schools, two local churches and other amenities you would expect in a small village. The village centre is only 10 minutes walk from a large 24hour supermarket, and the local wildlife preserve Cuerden Valley park and there are several public footpaths within the vicinity taking walkers to a variety of green destinations!
When local people were surveyed some years ago one of the main reasons for "liking Clayton Brook" was because of the trees and green-ness of the area.
