Welcome to the Classic Airsoft Talk page. This section is for discussion of older airsoft-related information. We also will use this page to discuss more in-depth features of these guns. In the early days of airsoft, there were literaly dozens of different systems and types of bbs used and to include them all in the main Wiki article would make it very cluttered. For most in-depth discussion, it would be best to visit www.classicairsoft.net. This wikipedia talk page is mainly for discussion of airsoft as it relates to the article

[edit] Exclusion of Piper Precision Products

Some of the guns from Piper Precision can be said to be classic airsoft guns. They are powered by gas and they resemble real guns. Piper Precsion started producing 6mm airguns after the advent of AEG's but so has Escort, Digicon and Tanaka which are included on the list. Piper Precision should be included.

Actually, Escort made guns long before the advent of AEGs, as did Tanaka. We explained this in our topic on classicairsoft.net

Anyway, if you do your research....

The first Tanaka was released in 1987, it was the Python Series The first Digicon was released in 1990, it was the M92f Series

The first Escort gun was made in 1992, the AR18 (This is documented in several magazines) The final gun released by JAC was the Electric AUG in 1994-1995 Sun Project and Youth Engineering were anounced in teh 1994-1996 era

The only company that is a real stretch is Shoei, however they can be considered grandfathered in due to the system used.
