[edit] History
Clifton was founded in 1924 by Harry Stubbs and is an interdenominational Christian school. Although the school had at first been named "Stubbs' School," Mr Stubbs's daughter, Dorothy suggested the name "Clifton," in memory of her cousin "Clifford," who had been killed during the First World War.
The school split in 1942 when half the school moved from Durban to the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands to form Clifton Preparatory School, Nottingham Road.
[edit] Clifton Today
The school is divided into three phases: a junior prep, senior prep and a college.
Clifton College was established in 2002 and the first grade 12 class will graduate in 2006 and write the Independent Examinations Board exams.
