Closed Romantic Realism is an album by VAST scheduled to be released in late 2007 or early 2008. A text document made available to VAST Fan Club members recently said the following:
"The demo version of Like God will be on the record released after April, tentatively titled "Closed Romantic Realism," slated for late 2007 or early 2008."
Jon Crosby has since elaborated (in the 2007 Visual Audio Sensory Theater "Q & A" audio commentary) that "Closed Romantic Realism" will also be a documentary of sorts.
On February 24, 2007, the following was posted via the official VAST MySpace page:
VAST will be shooting a documentary movie tentatively titled “Closed Romantic Realism” on their upcoming spring tour. Principal photography will begin April 18th in Seattle, WA and resume until the end of the tour around the middle of May. The film will be about VAST, VAST fans, the music industry, America, and the ups and downs an underground band goes through during a record cycle. It will be directed by acclaimed Austin director Ray Davis and produced by Jon Crosby of VAST. The documentary will feature exclusive music and a follow up soundtrack is expected. People who buy tickets through VAST directly are more likely to appear in the film if they choose to be.
