Coal Creek, British Columbia

Coal Creek is a ghost town near Fernie, British Columbia, Canada. Coal Creek isn't here anymore because a huge mine shut down, and everybody left in the 1950's. People go up to Coal Creek for The Coal Creek Picnic (2nd week in July), some dirt bike/bike, and quad trails, and for historic places. There is a myth that if you go on top Coal Creek Mountain it's very hot, because there was a big mine disaster on May 22, 1902 (the very worst Mine Disaster in British Columbia). There is also a Coal Creek (creek) That joins the Elk River in Fernie, British Columbia. Coal Creek Mountain is right by Castle Mountain near Fernie, British Columbia
