[edit] Introduction
Colorful Tabs is a Mozilla Firefox plugin that replaces the standard silver-toned tabs with tabs of multiple colors. This is the second plugin created by Shivanand Sharma, who first authored the CuteMenus2 plugin. It is fairly popular - it has had 1,104,769 downloads since its first Mozilla Firefox Addons appearance on October 10th, 2005.
[edit] Competitive "Tabbing"
In some places, especially middle schools and high schools, Colorful Tabs has inspired people to try to open as many tabs as they can. When you hold down Ctrl+T in Firefox, it continuously opens new tabs. One example of a large number of opened Colorful Tabs (before the person's computer crashed) is 1,229.
