Colossus of Eislingen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Colossus of Eislingen is the nickname of a particlularly tall powerline tower in Germany, formally known as Pylon 3 of Powerline 9421 of EnBW, situated near Eislingen in Baden-Württemberg.
It is a 47 metre (154 foot) high anchor pylon built in 1981. It stands with its legs in such way that the Schweinbach River runs under it. This feature is reminiscent of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Colossus of Rhodes, hence its nickname.
