Colvere ( COLVURI in Friulian) is the name of one of the main villages ( the others are Poffabro and Casasola) within the Comune di Frisanco in the Friuli region in north-eastern Italy. The name originates from the small strean flowing through the valley called the Colvera. In the 1600s and 1700s, the Val Colvera was populated on the the east side mainly by people from Poffabro and on the west side by people from Casasola. As you travel upstream you note the names of 5 Borgo or burroughs which make up the Colvere. On the east, li Fornasatte, Polàz and Mènis. On the west side, il Gobbo and Cudili.
