Comdial

Comdial is a telecommunications company based in Sarasota, Florida.
Comdial designs and sells integrated communications systems designed to help small and midsized businesses take advantage of new technologies such as VOIP. Some of Comdial's most popular products include the DSU/DSUII, FXII and DX-80 telephony solutions. Comdial's VOIP enables products include the MP5000 and FXII, both soultions enable businesses to take advantage of this growing technology by leveraging traditional digital phones and IP phones on the same telephone system. Comdial sells their small telephone system, the DX-80 and DX-120, primarily through wholesalers in the US; Graybar Electric, Tech Data, and ALLTEL's distribution arm are its primary customers. Comdial also has a large network of Authorized Dealers that market the small systems such as the DX-80 and 120 as well as the larger FX II and MP5000 PBX's. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May 2005; however, in September 2005, Comdial was acquired by Vertical Communications of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Since then the name has changed to Vertical Comdial and Vertical has put more money into research and development and introduced new systems such as the DX-120.
