Commando Squadron

Commando Squadron is a 100-strong Commando Squadron is the primary CT unit for the Emirate. It is based on the outskirts of the city of Dubai and has received training from the British SAS. A primary responsibility is the resolution of hijacking situations at Dubai International Airport, although the existence of a combat diving section implies at least some capability in maritime operations. They are known to have a 50-man reinforcing element (SWAT-type) within the Dubai Police which has received training not only from the British, but the United States as well.
