Commelinales is the botanical name of an order of flowering plants.
In the APG II system, of 2003, the order is placed in the clade commelinids, in the monocots, and circumscribed as follows:
- order Commelinales
- family Commelinaceae
- family Haemodoraceae
- family Hanguanaceae
- family Philydraceae
- family Pontederiaceae
This represents a change from the APG system, of 1998, which had not included family Hanguanaceae in this order which was circumscribed as

- family Philydraceae
- family Pontederiaceae
In the Cronquist system, of 1981, this order was placed in subclass Commelinidae of class Liliopsida and the circumscription was:
