Communist Party of Nepal (Unity Centre-Masal)

Communist Party of Nepal (Unity Centre-Masal), a communist political party in Nepal. CPN(UC-M) was constituted in 2002 through the merger of Communist Party of Nepal (Unity Centre) and Communist Party of Nepal (Masal). The CPN(UC-M) adheres to Marxism-Leninism-Maoism as its ideological basis.
The general secretary of CPN(UC-M) is Mohan Bikram Singh.
CPN(UC-M) favours a negotiated settlement of the Nepalese internal conflict. Their proposal, put forward together with other leftists, is to hold a constituent assembly. The party opposes US involvement in the conflict.
After the fall of the royal dictatorship in april 2006 the CPN(UC - M) has been split in three.
The major mass organization of CPN(UC-M) is the Janamorcha Nepal (english name: People's Front Nepal). The party and front are active in the Seven Party Alliance.
The women's wing of CPN(UC-M) is led by Surya Thapa (president) and Anjana Bisankhe (general secretary).
The students wing of CPN(UC-M) is All Nepal National Free Students Union (Unified).
The cultural wing of CPN(UC-M) is called Indreni-Raktim Cultural Family.
Fronts in India include All India Nepalese Unity Society (Mainstream) and All-India Nepali Students’ Association.
