Competition Act 1998

The Competition Act 1998 banned public schools from fee-fixing in the United Kingdom, which they had previously been allowed to do.
In 2004 50 public school were investigated for fee-fixing by the Office of Fair Trading, and have been asked to collectivelly raise £3 million, which will be spent on charities nominated by the pupils of the schools involved in the years 2001-2003.
