Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) NYSE: CSC is an information technology (IT) and business services company headquartered in El Segundo, California, USA. Its stated mission is to "help clients achieve strategic goals and profit from the use of information technology." CSC provides business transformation and IT consulting; systems integration and professional services; enterprise application development and management; application software for the financial services industry; business process outsourcing; and application and IT infrastructure outsourcing. CSC serves Fortune Global 1000 companies in fifteen industries and national and local governments. CSC employs about 77,000 people in 88 countries.
CSC's history began in April 1959 when it was founded by Roy Nutt and Fletcher Jones, with the goal of providing programming tools such as assemblers and compilers. The company was quickly successful, and went public in 1963, the first software company to be listed on a national exchange. Since 1968, it has traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CSC.
CSC reported revenue of $14.616 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006.
CSC's subsidiary in Denmark is the main sponsor of Bjarne Riis' Team CSC road bicycle racing team.
