Controlling of Projects (or CoP) is a web based project management software developed and sold by SMC GmbH (Germany) which is designed to assist project managers in developing plans, assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing budgets and analyzing workloads. It provides the tools for efficient project-team work, where by communication within and between teams is improved and gains in process reliability are achieved. CoP is a family of products, whose individual characteristics support, with varying emphasis, different aspects of project and line management.
CoP offers the following possibilities:
- Projects with tasks, sub-tasks, and work assignments can be defined and planned.
- Staff can be administered and allocated work assignments.
- Staff can notify the completion of work assignments.
- Project expenditure in the for of work time can be recorded against relevant assignments.
- Various user groups can generate up to date task related reports.
- CoP.Time and CoP.Control both possess a bi-directional interface to Microsoft Project 2002/2003. Time expenditure can be recorded for projects which have been created with Microsoft Project and made available for use within Microsoft Project.
