[edit] Early Life
No one knows for sure when Lanting was born, but the best source is a defector from the University of Beijing. He claims to have been part of a project called “Operation Golden Child”, in which the government would use selective breeding to create a group of super-soldiers. He says child L3223DR, later named Lanting Xu, came from the second batch of children. Her instructors recognized her greatness at an early age, and she excelled in the military life that was a constant for all the children. She became an officer at the age of ten. She was put in command of a platoon of soldiers twice her age during the war with Vietnam (1979), where she received numerous condemnations. By the age of sixteen she was a captain in the PLA. Also during this time, she starred in various Chinese and Communist propoganda films, most notably in the movie "Not One Less", where she showed her talent and range through the role of a teacher, searching for her lost student and invariably getting into mayhem.
For her role as the young teacher, Xu earned a Chinese Oscar, but did not turn up when reports of Swedish assasins were placed in the event center's balconies. She later lost out to the actress from Beijing Bicycle. Curiously enough, 5 months later, the winner of the Chinese Oscar was found dead in a hotel room holding onto a replacement Chinese Daytime Emmy Award for Best Sound Mixing. Xu was implicated in the murder and theft, but no evidence was ever found on the crime scene to link her.
[edit] Worldwide Revolutionary
Lanting was then recruited for a top secret project known as “Operation Red Dawn”, in which a special detachment of soldiers would help destroy the capitalist pigs abroad, and eliminate the enemies of the people at home. Their first mission appears to be against a reform minded general. The group of around ten soldiers stormed the compound and eliminated the general. According to official documents, Lanting had 23 confirmed kills. Lanting spent the bulk of the 80’s in Afghanistan, attacking both the Soviets and Afghan resistance. It is here that Lanting was awarded the Order of Mao, for single handedly infiltrating an Afghan base and destroying it. However, recent records show Lanting in Italy in 1981. In a never before seen conversation, Interpol interrogates a Chinese nation about a possible Chinese connection to the Papal assassination attempt:
Interpol: We already caught the guy who did this…
Man: He’s a patsy! Lanting would never allow herself to be caught…
Interpol: Who’s Lanting?
Man: I can’t say… I have a family! She’ll kill me!
Interpol: You’re safe here.
Man: Ok, she’s a monster. I’ve seen her torture the Muslims into compliance. Oh God, it was horrible. Those screams! She feels no mercy.
Interpol: Where can we find her?
Man: Go to the [gunshot]
Interpol: Oh my God… No!
Unknown female voice: Foreign Devils! [More Gunshots]
*Tape ends*
Lanting then took place in suppressing the Tibetan rebellion of 1989. What transpired is more legend than truth, Lanting’s forces took up position above a small village in southern Tibet. Some say Lanting was busy torturing a prisoner for information.
[edit] Xu's Whereabouts
The fate of Xu is highly mysterious. Some say that she is back in her native China plotting with the current shadow government. Others dispute this and state that Lanting is plotting in Venezuela with Hugo Chavez. Unconfirmed reports say that Chavez is hiring Xu to take out evangelical minister, Pat Robertson.
Recent intelligence briefings speculate that Xu is currently on an assignment to disable branches of the Jesuit order, notably Jesuit high schools across America.
