Corey Santee (born September 13, 1981 in Flint, Michigan) is an American professional basketball guard, currently playing for the Fort Worth Flyers of the NBA Development League.
Santee was a three-year starter at Flint Southwestern Academy. As a senior in 2001, he averaged 20 points and 7 assists per game, leading him to earn first team All-State honors. He also finished as the runner-up for Michigan's "Mr. Basketball" and was rated the number one point guard in Michigan by Prep Spotlight Magazine. [1]
After high school, Santee was recruited by coach Billy Tubbs to attend Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. The previous year, Flint natives Mateen Cleaves, Morris Peterson and Charlie Bell (the "Flintstones") had led Michigan State to a national championship, causing TCU fans to greatly anticipate the arrival of their own "Flintstone" on campus. After Santee's freshman year at TCU, Tubbs was replaced by Neil Dougherty, who came to TCU fresh off of a trip to the Final Four as an assistant at Kansas.
Santee was named Team MVP and All-Conference USA as both a junior and senior. As a senior in 2005, he led the Horned Frogs to the quarterfinal round of the NIT. He ended his college career with 1,832 points-placing him second on the school's all-time scoring list.
After graduation, Santee played professional basketball in Germany for a year before returning to Fort Worth to play for the Flyers. He is currently averaging 13 points per game for the Flyers, with a season high of 29 against the Idaho Stampede on January 24.
