Corinne Orr (born 1936, St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada) is a Canadian-born actress and voice artist.
Orr was born in the French-Canadian village of St. Hyacinthe. At an early age, Orr's mother enrolled her in elocution lessons. She became involved in Children's Theatre beginning at the age of 10 and started to develop her repetroire of voices and by the age of 14 was working with the Montreal Repertory Theatre and the Montreal Mountain Playhouse ensemble, acting alongside such notables as Barry Morse (The Fugitive, Space: 1999), Christopher Plummer (The Sound of Music), and William Shatner (Star Trek) in productions like Noel Coward's Dinner at Eight.
With a solid background on the stage, Orr soon landed work on CBC radio in such dramas as Laura Limited, and was then hired to CBC television to portray the character of 'Suzie Mouse' on the children's soap opera Chez Helene, a bilingual program devoted to teaching children English and French. Robert Goulet and Orr were by then the two single highest paid performers on CBC.
In New York, Orr began working regularly on radio, television, and as a voice artist. One of her first jobs was a continuing role on the daytime soap opera The Nurses. She also began her lucrative career as spokesperson for a variety of companies in a wide range of radio and television commercials. In addition, she dubbed foreign films into English and, since she is a multi-voiced talent, she is in demand in the cartoon world.
Orr's animation credits include Star Blazers ('Nova'), Ultraman, The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers (The Queen of the Crown), and Marine Boy, voicing the characters of 'Marine Boy', 'Neptina', and 'Cli-Cli'. She also voiced the classic Speed Racer series, in which she portrayed 'Trixie', 'Spritle', and all the rest of the female characters; as well as the Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders series, where she played the characters of 'Queen Anya' and 'Lady Kale'.
In addition to commercials and cartoons, Orr has narrated children's stories, provided voices for several dolls, and recorded numerous books on tape. For fifteen years, she was the voice of Snuggle the Bear in Snuggle's fabric softener brand commercials, and continues to work in such series as the Disney show PB&J Otter. Orr continues to perform and teach; she has lived in New York City for more than four decades.
