[edit] Evolution of the song
As Corrina is a folk song its roots are ambigious. One of the first occurrences could be Blind Lemon Jefferson in April 1926 for Paramont Records[1]. The melody is different but contains the verse:
If you see Corrina, tell her to hurry home I ain't had no true love since Corrina been gone I ain't had no true love since Corrina been gone I ain't had no true love since Corrina been gone
It has gone through many changes over the years and been recorded by many artists.
The original song "Corrine, Corrina" was written in 1928 by Bo Chatmon of the Mississippi Sheiks, Mitchell Parish and J Mayo Williams and marked on the race music label Brunswick Records.[2]
