Corte-Real

Corte-Real is common surname of Portuguese origin, which means literaly "Royal Court". It was the name of three Portuguese explorers:
- João Vaz Corte-Real, who possibly reached Newfoundland in the 1470s
- Miguel Corte-Real, a son of João, who disappeared trying to find his brother Gaspar
- Gaspar Corte-Real, youngest son of João, who made several discoveries around Newfoundland and Labrador
