Cory Williams also known as "Mr. Safety" from SMP Films on YouTube. is a YouTube elite who lives in Turlock, California, USA. He has acquired over 15,000 subscribers and over 7 million video views. In 2005 his YouTube account was being moderated by a friend of his who used an auto refresher to get his videos more views, which is why his user profile shows that he has watched over 400,000 videos. However, he claims he was unaware of his friend's false marketing strategy and took back his account after realization. Cory is known for posting all types of videos from sketch comedy to music videos, as well as inspirational video blogs that help others cope with ADD (Cory has a mild case of ADD). He is also the founder of "As One.", which is a gathering held for YouTube users. The first gathering was held in January 2006 and the video received over 900,000 views. Then the second gathering was held in San Francisco[1], which managed to attract many of YouTube's elite users and over 400,000 views on the video.
On Myspace, he was recognized as the 2nd most popular unsigned comedic music artist in the world in 2005. He now has over 20,000 myspace friends.
In February 2005, Cory released his first self made DVD and CD to public titled "Simple Minded People"[2], which lead him to perform live with Steve-O from MTV's Jackass and Wildboyz.
During his earlier years of blogging, he was sponsored by Golden Palace Casino (an online gambling site), which later went out of business in the United States after President George W. Bush signed a bill prohibiting online gambling.[3]
In November 2006, he became the host of the first national TV show to spawn from video bloggers, called The FIZZ[4] on DirecTV channel 101 in the United States.[5][6]. The show features other popular video bloggers such as thewinekone, boh3m3, TheHill88, Digitilsoul, and many others. The show airs daily on DirecTV channel 101.
In March 2007, NickyNik and Cory were rehearsing for their first filler skit on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, however, the staff of the Tonight Show, decided to upgrade their act to a featured skit and moved their first appearance to May 2007. The skit is set to be titled "Don't Try This At Home". He also appears in Bloodhound Gang's music video "Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss" from their newest album titled "Hefty Fine".
He was the first YouTuber to propose to his girlfriend in a video made for YouTube (April 1st, 2007).
Mr. Safety also appears on [7]. a new MTV series hosted by Jacoby Shaddix, the lead singer from Papa Roach. The show airs on MTV starting April 10th 2007.
