Coseley Urban District
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Coseley Urban District was a local authority which was created in 1894. It was made up of the villages of Coseley, Brierley and Ettingshall, which had previously been part of the ancient manor of Sedgley.
The urban district's council was based at a building in the town centre until relocating to a site on Sedgley Road West during the 1930s.
Coseley UDC ceased to exist in 1966 when, along with Sedgley and Brierley Hill, it was incorporated into the borough of Dudley. The Ettingshall area of the town was incorporated into Wolverhampton.
The former Coseley council offices were taken over by Dudley College, who used them as an annexe until 1993. The buildings have since been taken over by a local business.
