"Counterparts and Number Them" is the second single off Alexisonfire's debut album, Alexisonfire (2002).
The song starts off with a fast guitar riff that leads into the verse. George Pettit screams most of the vocals as one sylible, while guitarist Dallas Green sings a melodic line over it. The verse then leads into a palm-muted guitar riff as George says "sweater...". A quiet interlude follows and the song soon ends on the first riff.

The music video for the song features the band playing in pink shirts at a park with a bunch of children. Close-ups are shown of the band, the children, and George eating a sandwich. The band runs around with the children and lets them jump off of the drum set. The video was directed by Marc Ricciardelli.
